Blood Donation Camp at VULKAN India

Taking on social responsibility is an integral part of VULKAN's corporate culture. VULKAN's Indian subsidiary VTI once again demonstrated its social commitment at a blood donation camp organized by the Jankalyan Blood Centre on 22 November, 2024 at the VULKAN premises in Pune. More than 100 employees from various departments came together to donate blood.

The Jankalyan Blood Center was founded in 1983 and is considered the most renowned blood bank in Pune. It has successfully conducted more than 6,500 blood donation camps with over 480,000 donors and 620,000 happy recipients. The cooperation between VTI and the blood bank already has a long history: The Indian VULKAN subsidiary has already donated a fully equipped ambulance to the Jankalyan Blood Centre for the organization of blood donation campaigns. An important centrifuge, which is needed to separate whole blood into red blood cells, platelets and plasma, was also provided by VTI.

The response of the workforce to the current blood donation camp was great: 100 employees donated with enthusiasm and emphasized the importance of joint efforts to save lives. For this reason, many of them pledged to donate blood regularly from now on. Among the donors was Rajesh Mishra, Managing Director of VTI, who wanted to set a good example and make a personal contribution: “Donating blood is a small act with a big impact. I am proud that our team is coming together to make a difference,” said Rajesh Mishra during the event.

The initiative also served as a platform to raise awareness of the health benefits of donating blood and its life-saving potential. A team of medical professionals ensured a smooth and safe process and provided donors with health tips and refreshments afterwards.

“This campaign is proof of VULKAN's commitment, which goes beyond innovation in its own business areas and also includes assuming social responsibility,” summarized Rajesh Mishra.
