Monday, August 1, 2022 was the day for 12 young people: they started their training in seven different professions or their dual studies at VULKAN. Another apprentice will start his job at VULKAN on September 1. Yesterday, the company welcomed the ten apprentices and two dual students at the headquarters in Herne. This year, in addition to industrial clerks, IT specialists for system integration and application development, and machinists, VULKAN is also training for the first time in the following professions: Mechatronics Technician, Industrial Mechanic and Warehouse Logistics Specialist.

Management and trainers welcomed the new trainees: "We need young, committed, motivated and qualified people as the specialists and managers of tomorrow, who will ensure that the company continues in the interests of our customers and employees", said Sebastian Meise, Chief Operations Officer/Chief Technology Officer of VULKAN, in his welcoming speech.

Getting to know colleagues and the workplace
Right on the first day, there was a lot on the agenda for the trainees: After getting to know each other, the photos for the employee ID cards were taken. In addition, the young career starters learned a lot of interesting facts about the history, organization, corporate philosophy and product portfolio of their new employer through a company presentation. In addition, they got to know their future workplaces and the working environment during a tour of the plant and the head office. At the end of the first working day, some organizational matters had to be settled, such as handing out the training plans, the trainee manual and the required work equipment such as laptops and work clothes.

VULKAN trains its own junior staff on a broad basis
As an experienced training company and family-run technology company in Herne, VULKAN is offering apprenticeships in seven different trades for the first time this year. "With this step, we are securing our future with our own junior staff and training on a broad basis for our own needs", says Ricarda Brox, responsible for personnel development at VULKAN. The VULKAN trainees receive a varied training and professional and personal support as well as individual promotion by contact persons on site. This also includes targeted further training and exam preparation. After successful completion of the training and corresponding performance, the graduates have good chances for a future-oriented job at VULKAN.

We wish all VULKAN trainees a successful start into their professional life!
